Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is the Parents Day Out (PDO) Program?

Parents Day Out provides a safe, nurturing environment where children can learn, play, and grow while parents enjoy a few hours for themselves. Our activities include crafts, storytime, snacks, and more, all designed to support children’s development and introduce them to basic Christian values.

2. What are the ages served in the PDO program?

We accept children from 8 weeks through 5 years old. Children are grouped by age to ensure activities are age-appropriate and engaging.

3. What are the hours and days of operation?

Monday - Friday from 9:00am to 1:00pm. Please ensure timely drop-off and pick-up.

4. What safety measures are in place for my child?

Safety is our priority. All staff/volunteers are background-checked and trained in CPR, AED and basic first aid. Our staff/volunteers are also required to complete Child Protection Training. Our facility is childproofed, and we follow all recommended safety guidelines, including emergency evacuation plans.

5. Do you provide snacks and lunch, or should we pack one?

You should provide a peanut-free snack and lunch every time your child visits. If you forget, don't worry, we have back-ups.

6. What should my child bring each day?

Please send your child with a labeled bag containing a change of clothes, diapers or pull-ups, a water bottle, snack, and a lunch. Label everything with your child’s name to avoid mix-ups.

7. How do you handle allergies and medical needs?

We ask that parents complete a detailed medical form before enrollment. If your child has allergies, medical needs, or requires medication during the program, please inform us so we can accommodate them safely. Our staff is trained to handle these situations carefully.

8. Is there a curriculum or structure to the day?

Yes! Each day includes a structured schedule of activities such as free play, circle time, crafts, story time, and recess. Our themes often include lessons on sharing, kindness, and other basic values.

9. How do you handle behavior and discipline?

We focus on positive reinforcement and gentle redirection to manage behavior. If needed, we use a 'thinking chair' for the child to take a few minutes to collect themselves. If there are any concerns, we’ll communicate directly with you to work together on solutions.

10. How much does the program cost, and how do I pay?

Our daily rate is $38. You can pay at the time you reserve a spot.
